Myth Mermaid

With the help of literary works by Heinrich Heine, Homer, Friedrich de la Motte Fouqué, classics such as Andersen's "The Little Mermaid", but also lesser-known texts such as Oscar Wilde's "The Fisherman and His Soul", the spellbound listeners learned about the origins of the myth and how it came to be as we know it today.
The history of the mermaid goes back to antiquity, was realized in the siren myth of Greek mythology and experienced a revival in the Romantic era with the figures of Undine and Loreley. The tragic-beautiful stories usually revolve around the impossible love between the water woman and a mortal, which fails solely because of the nature of the two protagonists.
The final part of the reading was presented in the lovingly designed underwater level of the Sagamundo.

Although the probably most famous example of this species will not be found in the waters of the Alps, but in the Danish capital Copenhagen (if you are interested in a short virtual visit there see =>> komoot.com/de-de/highlight/73022 ), the Nixe (or mermaid) that lives in Lake Millstatt is also a pretty, nice monument and is certainly a welcome photo opportunity for passing hikers during a short break.
