An extremely beautiful as well as exciting climb to the highest mountain of Rhodes.
Starting with a steep path through scree and scrub/herbs, it quickly becomes a small climb over steep slopes of scree and rocks. The whole trail is well marked by red dots and we were always glad to have found the next one. Please make sure to follow the red dots, not the straight path or alternatives that Komoot suggests - you will quickly end up flying blind and in surmountable hurdles for "normal" mountain hikers.
If you hike/climb up the path, you will be rewarded with peace and a fantastic view away from the typical tourist corners.
Attention: The ascent is not for inexperienced hikers, children, older people or people who are not athletic! The entire tour requires hiking boots, some climbing skills, no fear of heights and very good surefootedness. There are adequate markings and the stones are easy to hold on to, but there are no additional safeguards.
And only go in that direction, not down from top to bottom. There are no markings to be seen. From a certain point there is no going back - climbing down is (almost) impossible and there is hardly any support due to the loose scree.
