It can be judged that the original early Renaissance church in Starojica is the current elongated southern chapel of St. A cross that stands out prominently from the church floor plan. In the second half of the 16th century, the church was expanded and rebuilt in the Renaissance style at considerable expense by the then owner of the estate, Karl of Žerotín. At that time, they built the new tower of the church from a solid structure and finished it in the manner of a crown (Atika), which people called the apostles. The overall baroqueization of the temple subsequently began sometime after 1686, only the appearance of the tower remained unchanged.
