The Almke outdoor pool, which was put into operation in 1933 as a fortified bathing pond, has changed steadily over the past 70 years. In 2003, the outdoor pool received a new pool body and a new water treatment. The outdoor pool Almke is one of the most modern outdoor pools in Wolfsburg. Despite the many changes and innovations, the bathroom has not lost its natural bath character even today. Since the 2012 season, the pool water is heated by the neighboring biogas cogeneration plant.
The spacious paddling pool with water-igloo offers different water depths over 70 square meters, so that even older toddlers feel well. The attractive non-swimmer area is directly attached to the paddling pool. The small water rats can approach the non-swimmer area deeper and deeper via a wide entry stairway. Due to different water depths, this area not only allows playing in the water, but also provides space for the first swimming attempts. So that it is not boring for the little guests, a slide leads into the water and water fountains invite you to splash around. The float area is separated from the non-swimmer area by a wall. The swimmers can make their rounds on five lanes. For sports enthusiasts start blocks are available. Connected to the float area is the diving pool. A 1-meter board and a 3-meter board lure you to jump into the cold water.
The season of the outdoor pool is usually from mid-May to mid-September.
