I went there about five times as a child and don't remember anything like that happening.
It was certainly stricter there than at home; food was served multiple times, and yes, one person would even slap us on the face.
Sometimes we had to stand in the washroom at night as punishment, for example, if we secretly drank water.
The only drinks we were allowed were a cup of tea for breakfast and dinner.
I can still remember many details, but not that we were "abused."
If anyone knows more or remembers being there, I'd be happy to be informed.
