Large mountain lake with parking lot and adjoining restaurant. As with many other mountain lakes in this region, swimming is prohibited, but fishing is permitted with a fishing license.

This lake is beautifully surrounded by mountains. We were there in mid-March and were asked by the gendarmerie not to hike to Lac Noir because a week earlier someone had to be rescued there by helicopter.

Ideal for parking the car in the parking lot and climbing up the mountains from there. From above a beautiful view over this beautiful lake.

This is the largest of the 3 lakes in Hautes Chaumes; a rest stop is available, unfortunately you can not use the village the toilet, if you do not eat in the restaurant :-(

There are enough parking spaces here for you to start on the numerous hiking trails. You have a wonderful view over the lake, even if the weather wasn't great today.

Yes - as already written, bathing is forbidden ... But still there were some brave ones on the edge with their legs in the water. The water is ICE COLD. A nice cooling during the big heat in late July 2019.

The lake itself is nothing spectacular. An artificial dam for power generation. But if you make the effort to climb to the other side (loop), then pay, especially in good weather, the view over the lake towards the Rhine plain and Black Forest.

From above, the Lac le Blanc is particularly appealing. I think the pictures say more than a thousand words. Just come over and enjoy. ;-) Caution is especially recommended from above as an alpine path right on the slope along for.

We didn't find the lake so nice coming from the parking lot, but we definitely enjoyed the view from the Rocher Hans ! It was a great hike and the view of the lake from the top is gorgeous.
