Impressive architecture. The gently sloping ramps make it easy to climb. However, the tower is so massive that it dominates the landscape. There are certainly skeptics who find the whole thing inappropriate.

Only the 42 meter high observation tower, which opened in 2016, provides a complete overview of the Saar loop, including the turning point of the river directly below.
So far I only knew the Saar loop from photos. But in person, the view of the long Saar valley is absolutely overwhelming. In any case, it's worth "screwing" your way up to the observation tower via the treetop path in order to be able to view the entire arc of the Saar loop.
