While the fruit market is at one end of the arcades, the town hall square (Piazza del Municipio) is at the other - eastern - end: it marks the lower end of Bindergasse.

Actually, it is Trinity Square. However, when the town hall under the arcades became too small after almost five centuries, the square was renamed Rathausplatz and construction work began on a new representative seat of the Bolzano city administration.
In 1907 the Bolzano town hall was completed.

Some other frescoed buildings adorn the town hall square, including the Amonnhaus in the east with the rococo stucco decoration. Every Friday morning the farmer's market takes place on the town hall square, where regional producers offer their fresh products: fruit and vegetables, cheese from the farm, eggs from free-range chickens, baked goods, herbs, bacon and cut flowers.
