If you visit this reservoir, be sure to visit the other dam, Odeleite, a few kilometers further north, which is almost even more beautiful. At both dams you will find hiking trails, peace and quiet, and sleepy villages.

Wonderful stroll, mostly on good tracks or very quiet local roads. You'll hear bird song almost all the way around. 2nd half is through local farmsteads and orchards. If a local offers you an orange, take it. It will be the best orange you've ever tasted in your life!
