Today we will walk the historic ring of Lemie through a regenerating walk, suitable for everyone, which will take us to visit beautiful villages, even abandoned ones, waterfalls, woods, chapels, a path of paths immersed in nature and silence.
You can leave on foot from any point: Lemie, Villaretti or Forno di Lemie. We decided to start from the latter, i.e. from the fifteenth-century stone bridge over the Stura.
After crossing the bridge, we follow the signs and take the path in front of us, on the right, which crosses a beautiful chestnut wood. In this first part the path is rather steep, but short. Indeed, in a short time we arrive at the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Truc, an 18th century chapel with a very beautiful panorama over the valley.
We now continue on the path which becomes flat at times and we arrive at the hamlet of Pessinea. We make a short stop and wander around this beautiful village made up of old houses, narrow streets and historic buildings such as the oven that was once used in turn by the families of the village to bake bread.
We now continue on our uphill path and follow the signs for Villaretti. First, however, we meet numerous abandoned but very suggestive hamlets, La Sauna, La Tinetta and Parneri with its panoramic pylon which we reach with a small detour of a few minutes. Here we stop to eat. The landscape is fantastic.
Once we've set off again, the path becomes less evident but following the signs we don't find particular difficulties in continuing. Here the route is up and down, always in the woods, until you reach the Crest del Vent, again a beautiful panoramic point.
Now we begin the descent towards Vallone d'Ovarda until we meet the village of Villaretti, where the road also arrives. The descent towards Lemie can be done either by road or by the mule track which starts at the first houses of the village.
When we reach Lemie, we still make a short detour towards the beautiful Ovarda waterfall, thus ending our excursion on the historic ring of Lemie.
