Eguisheim is one of the most picturesque villages in Alsace and was voted the most beautiful village in France in 2013. Built in concentric circles around the ruins of a medieval castle, the village is known for its colourful half-timbered houses, flower-filled facades and charming squares. The central Place du Château Saint-Léon is the heart of the village, with a fountain, a chapel and pleasant terraces. Eguisheim is located on the Route des Vins d’Alsace and is surrounded by vineyards, making it a popular stop for cyclists who want to combine culture, heritage and wine in an atmospheric setting.

Without a doubt a beautiful place. Great houses, restaurants, wine bars, everything is there. But it is also a tourist hotspot with a little train. In summer it gets quite busy here.
