Glandore - a picturesque spot on the coast that surprised me on my tour along the Wild Atlantic Way. The calm waters of the harbor are a clear blue, and if you're lucky you can even see the resident seals playing. During my break there, overlooking the water and the rolling hills in the background, I just let the moment take hold. The narrow streets and peaceful atmosphere practically invite you to get off and visit one of the pubs in the village. A cold drink in hand, legs stretched out - there is no better way to break up a bike ride.
What makes this place special is its proximity to nature. Further out in the bay, whales, dolphins and sometimes sharks are said to frolic. Even though I didn't see any myself, just the thought of it gives the place something magical. If you pass through here, treat yourself to a little time out and let the vastness of the bay work its magic on you.
