The altar and the throne of the virgin are separated from the rest of the temple by a fence. The houses that surround the patio, a cool cobbled space with a well, are decorated with pots of flowering plants.

Generally, the sanctuary is open every day of the year as long as there is sunlight. In addition, the hermitage has a small religious museum that can be visited on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
