The first mention of the parish church of Vazzola, matrix of the churches of Rai, Tezze and Cimetta, dates back to 1128. The primitive church, whose foundations and floor were rediscovered centuries later, was demolished in the 15th century to make way for the parish church, consecrated on 9 November 1490 by the bishop of Ceneda Nicolò Trevisan.

In 1918, at the end of World War I, the retreating Austro-Hungarian army blew up the bell tower and already during the conflict, the church had also suffered considerable damage.

The new bell tower, in neo-Gothic style, was built to a design by the Venetian Vincenzo Rinaldi and inaugurated in 1922.

In 1928 the facade of the church was rebuilt.

The church of San Giovanni Battista in Vazzola, in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, was built in 1400 and consecrated in 1490, contains the fresco of San Nicola di Bari between San Girolamo and Santa Caterina di Alessandria by Francesco Beccaruzzi and the altarpiece in the apse, entitled The sermon of the Baptist, attributed to Giovanni Antonio Fumiani.
