The LNG project at the Wilhelmshaven site

The first landing terminal for LNG in Germany, which is to be built as a Floating Storage & Regasification Unit (FSRU), will be built in Wilhelmshaven at the Voslapper Groden (UVG) transshipment facility. Uniper is building and operating the terminal with the support of the federal government. Uniper's goal is independence from individual energy sources and a sustainable energy future.

Uniper is thus making a significant contribution to the future diversification of energy imports in the Federal Republic of Germany as quickly as possible. In the future, green raw materials will be imported into Wilhelmshaven.

In a second project step, a permanent and expanded port solution for the FSRU is to be implemented parallel to the existing UVG. The plan is to create additional unloading and transshipment options for green gases, e.g. ammonia, in order to exploit the full potential of this new infrastructure project in Wilhelmshaven.
