This museum-library was the home of the bullfighting writer and critic José María de Cossío until his death in 1977. Many of his friends (writers and politicians) spent long periods of time in the house writing. In 1957, Rafael Alberti wrote "La arboleda perdida", where he described the time he spent with José María.
Jose María de Cossío's grandfather also invited many famous people, such as Miguel de Unamuno, Carlos Gardel and Gregorio Marañón.
