                      ⛪️Maria Laach Abbey⛪️
                      The Benedictine Abbey of Maria Laach was established on the banks of Lake Laach in the 11th century.

                      The monastery is an important building of Romanesque architecture and houses several monastic establishments.
                      The church is decoratively built from brown-yellow Laach tuff, white limestone from Lorraine and red Kylls sandstone. Later, grey tuff from the Eifel and basalt lava were also used⛪️.
                      The special features include the underground crypt, the vestibule and the so-called "paradise"-
                      called magnificent atrium
                      (in church architecture for forecourt) of the vaulted pillar basilica⛪️.
