Ernest Hemingway was in Fossalta di Piave on July 8, 1918, when an explosion lit up the night yellow, and by extension, this country house, before wounding him in the leg. The "yellow house" remained forever etched in his memory and often appears in his books, linked to war stories.

Walking along the Piave river, we reach the Yellow House: it is immersed in a small grove, between the river and the bank. We don't find any signs here: they are all located along the embankment where the route continues until it enters the countryside. The yellow house described by Hemingway (it is not yellow but reddish brick).
