The sun chair tower (potato tower) is a lookout tower on the Hohenrotberg south of Randersackerer village center. Situated above the vineyard Randersackerer Sonnenstuhl you can see from there the Main valley in a northerly direction to the fortress and in a southerly direction to the Ochsenfurter Gau.

From here you have a wonderful view of the Main valley. From the valley, it is definitely a challenge for runners, depending on which way you go up

The "Potato Tower" is supposed to be called that because the workers who knocked off the swastika and the year 1933 after the war. Were paid in potatoes by the Allies? Might be? Sounds reasonable! ;-)

The potato tower was actually built in 1932/33 and was called the "Hitler Tower" at the time. One explanation for why the tower is called the potato tower could be that the workers involved in the construction were paid in potatoes due to the high inflation at the time.
Another reason goes back to the previous use of the place: Scout groups are said to have grilled their potatoes on the campfire here during excursions.
