In the village of Neuhof there were a total of 35 houses in 1900. In it lived 18 cottagers who lived 17.50 hectares, 15.25 hectares, 14 hectares, 12.50 hectares, 11.75 hectares, 11.50 hectares, 11.37 hectares, 11.33 hectares, 9.75 hectares, 9 .25 hectares, 9.12 hectares, 7.33 hectares, twice 7.25 hectares, 7 hectares, 6.25 hectares, 5.57 hectares and 5.25 hectares of land cultivated. There was a teacher and a cottager who also worked as an innkeeper and owned 10.62 hectares of land. This year, 1.2 hectares from the Baruth Schloß estate district were incorporated. There were seven houses in the Vorwerk. In 1920 the Vorwerk Bombach appeared for the first time. Nine years later, 19 hectares of the Vorwerk were combined with the estate district, while the majority came to the Baruth forest estate district. From this, the rural community of Neuhof bei Baruth was founded in 1931 with the residential areas Schmelze and Wunder, which was renamed Horstwalde on April 12, 1939. The new name was derived from the field name Lange Horst and from the wooded area.
