The town in the Mangfall Valley is Bavaria's oldest moor spa and, since the opening of Therme Bad Aibling on September 17, 2007, has also been Bavaria's youngest thermal spa. For its water from a depth of almost 2,300 meters, the city has received state recognition as a healing source from the Bavarian State Ministry for the Environment, Health and Consumer Protection.
