Before 1945 this district was considered one of the most beautiful.
The east slope of Aschberg, Herm and the Räumer invited for a walk.
No wonder he
»Hergottsgarten*
was called.
The peasants dried the hay on the "Räumem" (wet meadows).
The most beautiful view of this area gives
it from the "cradle", a granite rock on a summit of the Aschberg.
In March 1950, in order to protect the state border, the so-called border area was established, which included the whole village.
The residents of Bublava needed a permit to leave the village and come back home.
Bublava was guarded by the 16th Border Police Company.
The prohibition zone was established along the border and all houses had to be demolished.
The border barrier was only formed with three wire fences.
The barrier was never electrified because East Germany was a friendly neighbor and in the 1960s it was removed.
Then the state border was only marked with boundary stones and today you rarely notice that you are in the neighboring country.
