The Rue des Récollets runs from the castle and the church towards the Anticline (and vice versa). The most important feature of this street is that it still houses an original section of the former monastery of the Franciscan Recollects (Friaries Minor) and some later parts of the complex.

The Récollets (and Récollectines) arrived in Durbuy at the instigation of the Antwerp-born military commander Antonie Schetz, Baron van Grobbendonck, who served the Spanish during the Eighty Years' War and leased the Durbuy estate and castle in 1628 for 40,000 gold marks, as you can read at komoot.com/nl-nl/highlight/7336847

The monastery was founded in 1625, damaged during the French Revolution, and closed by the French. The monastery church was transferred to the small town in 1809 because the parish church had been destroyed.

The monastery was subsequently used as a gendarmerie and town hall, a school, a justice of the peace court, a prison, a tax office, and partly as an orphanage (after renovation). In 1861, it finally returned to religious use, and the Daughters of Wisdom settled there. Later, a school was also established there for a short time.
The only remnants of the original building are the rectory and the wing that runs parallel to the church. The wing facing Rue des Récollets, which was naturally named after the order of the Franciscan Recollects (the Récollets or Ordo Fratrum Minorum Recollectorum), was built in the 18th century and renovated in the following century.

Part of it is now used for—naturally—tourism purposes. And the church is still the church.
