Omšenie is a picturesque village located in the Trenčín region in Slovakia, specifically in the Trenčín district. It lies in the foothills of the Strážovské vrchy, not far from the famous spa town of Trenčianske Teplice.
The Mass has a rich history that dates back to the Middle Ages. The first written mention of the village dates from the 14th century. During its history, Omšenie was mainly an agricultural village, where the inhabitants devoted themselves to the cultivation of cereals, cattle breeding and fruit growing. In the past, wood was also mined here, which was used in the nearby ironworks.
Omšenie is surrounded by the beautiful nature of the Strážovské vrchy, which makes it an ideal starting point for hiking and nature walks.
