One of the most important parks in Albacete and one of the green lungs of the city. It bears the name of the illustrious poet from Albacete Abelardo Sánchez and has an area of more than 80,000 square meters. It has a wide variety of green areas, trails, children's play areas, sports areas and spaces for events. It also has a number of monuments and sculptures. Among them, the monument to Abelardo Sánchez stands out, a sculpture in honor of the poet that gives its name to the park, as well as the Monument to the Heroes of Liberty, a work in homage to the fighters who participated in the Spanish War of Independence.

Abelardo Sánchez Park is the largest urban green space in Albacete and one of the city's most iconic landmarks. It was inaugurated in 1911 and has had several names over the years, including Canalejas Park and Martyrs Park. Its current name honors Mayor Abelardo Sánchez, who promoted its construction.
