The bridal path from Campbell to Dansey Pass is totally unsuitable for bicycle touring (or mountain biking for that matter). It involves crossing the Otekaieke River multiple times and lifting your bike up cut bank slopes from the river. The river is deep and wide enough that it requires dismounting to walk across and use the bike for support. The upper end of the bridal path ends in a cow pasture, with two padlocked gates that you will have to lift your bike and equipment over. You will also be without cell phone coverage and there are no dwellings along the way if you need help. In short, do not go this way!
