It was built between 1843 and 1855 under Major von Schele and could be occupied by 56 men. The work combined with the subsequent Courtine VIII the middle bastion with the Kienlesbergbastion. It consisted of the Escarpe, a wet ditch, batardeaus for water regulation of the ditch, the small flower gate, which led to the blue island, and at the right end of the inner Blaubeurer Tor, which stands out from the entire fortress due to its style inspired by the Romanesque style. Under the Courtine, two arms of blue performed.
