D2 is a small dolmen attributed to the Funnelbeaker culture and was built between 3400 and 3100 BC. It originally had four capstones, two of which ended up in the crypt and could later be put back on the supporting stones. A remnant of the third capstone is in the tomb and the fourth is missing. The hunebed is 8 meters long and 3 meters wide and has eight supporting stones and two keystones, as well as two gateway stones.

The "Van Giffen" bronze nameplate had been missing for many years, but it unexpectedly reappeared in July 2009 with a councilor from the municipality of Borger who turned out to be the heir of the now deceased thief. He "donated" the heirloom to the Hunebed Center.
