The Plaza de España in Daimiel is a beautiful example of a popular La Mancha square, with various image changes over the centuries, dating back to the 16th century, when it was known as Plaza de los Portales Blancos.
Since its origins it has been the nerve center of Daimiel, being during its history the place of celebration of different festivities, both bullfighting and cultural, as well as the space where markets were held.
Flanked by ten monumental pine trees, it is the main meeting, walk and leisure place. Currently, the Town Hall, several commercial establishments and financial entities are located in the Plaza.

It is worth highlighting the Millenary Olive Tree in the square.
It is located at one end of the Plaza de España. It bears witness to the history of Daimiel, planted by the Arabs around the year 900. It is a unique and representative specimen of the traditional cultivation of the area. It belongs to the variety "Cornicabra". This extraordinary natural monument has become an emblem of the city.
