The Font del Ferro is a source of ferruginous water, as indicated by the inscription on the old location of the source: "Manso Pi. Agua Ferruginosa. 1862" at the foot of the old bed of the Estela stream. The situation of the source forced the torrent to be diverted and now it passes under the access bridge to the site. Equipped with several fixed barbecues, hikers can prepare their meals using these facilities and the tables and benches that have been arranged there, after the restoration of the place carried out in 1980.
The current source comes from this intervention; an electric switch pumps water from a well in the old Saguer factory, which had commercialized carbonated water and, with its construction, had made another source of ferruginous water disappear: the Miralles spring.
The route from Plaça de les Sardanes to Font del Ferro is part of the first section of the Anella Verda route, which runs through forests and paths to the center of Campdorà. They are about ten kilometers that pass through areas of natural interest such as Font dels Lleons and Font del Ferro. Near the source, the Can Garcia Hill offers cyclists and hikers a privileged view of the Cathedral, the church of Sant Feliu, the houses of Sant Daniel and the back of Montjuïc.
