The heart of the museum complex is the 800 square meter exhibition hall. Here are about 45 wind and watermill models from all over the world. They are true to life and scaled to the original in every detail scaled reduced. In a building of their own, they have found their place as witnesses to an irretrievable period of human existence and action that seems to be revived as the wings of the mill turn and shed light on the function and operation of mankind's oldest machine. Each model represents a small work of art. Be it the "Moulin de la Galette" of Montmarte in Paris or the mill of "La Mancha" from Spain, against whose wings the legendary Don Quixote fought in vain. They all bear witness to a cultural-historical epoch whose end has long since begun. In addition to the miniatures, old miller utensils, drawings, photos and plans as well as an original meal of an oil mill complete the exhibition.
