Owler Tor is a collection of striking gritstone formations set in heather covered moorland which creates a particularly spectacular backdrop in August, when it can be surrounded by a sea of purple.

The Tor is great for exploring and bouldering, and as it's only a few minutes walk from Surprise View car park, it's a popular destination.

This whole area is great for the kids, but the rocks here in particular are a great location to bring the kids. Plenty of climbing over and under the rocks and loads of little paths through bracken and heather around the site.

Allow an extra couple of hours so the kids can climb all over these perfect rocks! The big kid in me loved it too
