Bolaños de Calatrava is a town in the Campo de Calatrava region, in the province of Ciudad Real, in the autonomous community of Castilla - La Mancha.

The origins of this population are Roman, still present in parts of the wall of the castle of Doña Berenguela, also attested by the discovery of coins, idols and graves found to the south of the population. The Muslim presence is also present in the northern and eastern constructions of the castle and inside, where bathrooms were located, and in the arabesque decoration of some rooms.

The economy of the area is eminently agricultural, evolving towards agricultural products such as nuts, chips, canned aubergines, wine and oil.
