The construction of the Church "Holy Apostles Peter and Paul" - of the city of Sofia, began on July 12, 1929 and lasted until 1933. The cornerstone was laid by Sofia Metropolitan Stefan, Vicar Bishop Paisiy, Sofia Mayor Vladimir Vazov, Prime Minister Andrey Lyapchev and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Religious Affairs Atanas Burov.
It was consecrated on April 1, 1934.
The temple is a three-nave cross-domed basilica with three thrones. The northern throne is dedicated to the apostles Constantine and Helena, the southern throne to the holy patriarch Euthymius.
The construction of the main temple was preceded by the construction of a small chapel of the same name. Worship services were held in it, which continued even after the construction and dedication of the temple in 1934.
