"The Stadtpark Rheinberg is located on the southwest edge of the historic city center, southwest of the ramparts used as a green zone, in the middle of the city. The Moersbach flows immediately to the west, and parts of the park are in the former floodplains. The northern part forms the historically oldest part of the city park and is designated as a monument area. Characteristic of the monument area are the central avenue, the war memorial, the heger basin (lake with fountains) and the sculptures. The individual architectural monuments "Spanish Vallan" (7 m high, hexagonal tower from the old fortifications) are integrated into the northern part. and the "Underberg-Freibad" (named after the Underberg family, who lived in Rheinberg and invented the bitters of the same name in 1848 and still produce them here today).

The southern part of the city park was created in 1975 and its design is more in line with the idea of a landscape park. In the transition to the Moersbachaue, this area is characterized by the alternation of wood, lawn and pond area. The remaining and predominant part is determined by forest-like woody plantations."
