The current church of Pero was built in 1891 in honor of S. Colombano Abate, as was the previous one, dating back to a few centuries earlier. In 1892 the decorations and frescoes of the church began under the direction of prof. Antonio Beni. From 1927 to 1929 some expansion works were carried out on the church which consisted of the construction of the apse and two two-storey sacristies connected by two galleries to the existing presbytery. The new apse was connected to the choir to form pointed arches supported by pillars.

The parish church of San Colombano in Breda di Piave dates back to the 11th century. In fact, the ancient bell tower that stands adjacent to the current church still remains today as evidence of a tenth-century feudal settlement, then probably adapted to a monastery. The origins of the current church date back to 1877 when it was radically restored, while the consecration dates back to 1977.
