road that I discovered almost by chance the day I decided to abandon, reluctantly but too busy, the E6 to head for Sweden, thus abandoning Norway for the moment. I remember that that day, in early July, it was raining heavily, as if it were November, to be clear, and my spirits weren't the best: I was cold and didn't yet know how to continue my journey towards Nordkapp; so, after a stop in Grong to get some food and a second stop in the small train station to warm up a bit, I turned back to follow road 74 which would take me to Sweden where I knew there would be much less traffic. Following this road turned out to be a perfectly fitting decision: it gently climbs a natural area of rare beauty which, under the pouring rain, acquires even more charm; along the way you cross a large stream several times and often thunderous waterfalls fall along the roadside.
