The church of Saint-Laurent de Couillet is one of the last perfectly preserved buildings in the region in the Gothic style, which flourished in the 16th century in the region. Saint-Laurent is one of the finest examples of gothic churches in Hainaut. The tower and a fragment of the west facade date from the 11th century. The vault of the choir in polychrome wood represents the martyrdom of Saint-Laurent, and dates from 1588.
