The Nacimiento de Arbuniel spring belongs to the Guadalquivir Basin. Affects nine
municipalities in the south of the Province of Jaén and northwest of the province of Granada with a multitude of
districts. Located at the southern end of the town of Arbuniel (T. M. de Cambil), it is one of
the largest in the province of Jaén.
It has a flow rate that ranges between 144 and 1,500 I/s with an average of 600 1/s. He is considered the only one
natural drainage point of the Alta Coloma aquifer. The waters give off a slight foul smell,
due to the presence of sulfur gases.
A large pool serves to regulate the waters, which were used to irrigate the olive grove, in the past
used for different activities, grinding in various types of flour mills or
oil, the true economic engine of the area.
