Quintanar de la Orden is part of the network of Cervantes cities because it is related to the work of this author. Specifically, Quintanar is mentioned twice in Don Quixote, in chapter 4 of the first part and in the last chapter of the second. The municipality also belongs to the Order of Santiago and although many of the buildings erected by this order no longer exist, the late Gothic church of Santiago Apóstol still remains.
