The Aare gorge in Brugg is a cliff-like river breakthrough of the Aare in the north of the city of Brugg in the canton of Aargau. In a 1400 meters long and up to 15 meters narrow rock channel the river crosses a southern foothills of the Bruggerberg, which consists mainly of hard Malmkalken of the Tafeljuras. Despite its location in the Bruges urban area, the Aareschlucht remained largely untouched and has been a natural monument of national importance since 1996.
