Schloss Markt Wald is a Fugger castle in Markt Wald. Since 1660 Markt Wald belonged to the princes Fugger-Babenhausen. The castle, which dates back to 1525, was built in 1747/48. The former castle later became the princely Fuggersche Oberförsterei. The castle is a three-storey building with two corner towers and a stair tower. Leopold Graf Fugger-Babenhausen has lived in it since 2011 and has been extensively renovated.

Here in Markt Wald, the Fugger have left their mark in the form of a small castle complex. In contrast to many other castles and palaces it was - at least as far as visible from the outside - very nicely renovated. A special eye-catcher are the antlers on the tops of the towers!
