Karol Szymanowski (born October 3, 1882 in Tymoszówka, died March 29, 1937 in Lausanne) - Polish composer, pianist, teacher and writer.
The statue of Karol Szymanowski is located in the center of the Jerzy Waldorff Park.
The statue was created on the initiative of music lovers from Słupsk, it shows the stone figure of the Polish composer, carved in Swedish granite against the background of a piano wing with a pond and dripping water, and a small bas-relief depicting Harnaś. Szymanowski is standing in a tailcoat, with a handkerchief in his buttonhole and a cigarette in his right hand. The monument is the work of Professor Stanisław Horno-Popławski, it was created in 1970.
The unveiling of the sculpture took place at the inauguration of the 5th Polish Piano Festival, by Stanisław Wroński on the 90th anniversary of the birth and the 35th anniversary of the death of Karol Szymanowski.
