With the revival of Freiberg mining towards the end of the 18th century, the Dittmannsdorfter pond was built. Today it is used for flood protection and fish farming.

With the revival of Freiberg mining towards the end of the 18th century and the resulting lack of forcing water, the need to create the Dittmannsdorfer Teich arose. This happened in connection with the construction of the art grave of the same name and the rose of the same name. At the same time as the water body was created, a pond house, the wave protection wall over the entire length of the dam and a Tarras wall were built. The length of the crest is 282 m, the width of the crest 11.3 m. The water is currently fed mainly by the Ullersdorfer Bach. The main purpose of the Dittmannsdorf pond today is flood protection and fish farming. In 1999, a hydroelectric power plant for electricity generation was put into operation at the operational outlet of the water body.
