This church is located near an old sanctuary dedicated to Saint-Martin, probably built around the beginning of the 12th century, and whose chronicles tell us that it was given to the priory of Mortagne by the bishop of Saintes Adhémar Carbonel in 1174. .
Having become dilapidated, the church was decommissioned during the 17th century and its destruction ordered in 1707.
