The 40-meter-high landmark of Zug characterizes the historic part of the city. The tower's origins go back to a shell tower from the 13th century.
Hans Felder raised it between 1478 and 1480. The tower took on its current form with the steep hipped roof and the foehn guard's room above the roofs of Zug in 1557.
Two "Timpis" (dungeons) for delinquents deserve due attention.
Tip: You can get the key in the Wunderbox at Fischmarkt 10 by leaving an ID card.
Wunderbox opening times:
Winter half-year (October-March)
Tue - Fri: 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Sat: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Summer half-year (April - September)
Mon - Fri: 10 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Sat: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Outside of these opening times, you can get the key from the Intermezzo restaurant at Grabenstrasse 6.
On Monday, the key can be picked up from the Zug library.

Originally built in the 13th century, the tower was raised to its current height of 52 metres between 1478 and 14801. The tower has served various purposes over the centuries, including as a watchtower, prison and fire alarm.

Particularly noteworthy is the astronomical clock, installed in 1574. It shows not only the time, but also the phases of the moon, the day of the week and the current zodiac sign.
