Approximately 3km beyond Nakhal Fort, after a scenic drive through a palm grove and gardens of glorious bougainvillea, you will reach the hot springs of Ain Thowarah in Wadi Hammam. They are a popular destination for the Omanis. Anyone who comes here at the weekend experiences the hustle and bustle of everyday life when young people and families meet for picnics, barbecues, music and relaxation - and of course for swimming, although this is officially not permitted. There is a small restaurant, a small supermarket and ample shady picnic areas under palm trees. On the other hand, if you visit during the week, an oasis of calm awaits you here.
