Hollerather Knie hiking car park. From here you can take three marked hiking trails. Two Wild Narcissus hiking trails (5 and 7 km) and the Westwall hiking trail (approx. 13 km). "At the Hollerather Knie, tank barriers of the "Aachen Presentation", which is part of the so-called "West Wall", run over the height. To the rear there are numerous blown up and overground bunkers. In the forest, field positions and an anti-tank ditch bear witness to the war events in autumn and winter 1944/45.
The "Battle of the Bulge" was the last large-scale attempt by Nazi Germany to inflict a war-turning defeat on the Western Allied military. This military operation on the "West Wall" between Monschau and Echternach, which resulted in very heavy losses on all sides, began in the early morning of December 16, 1944. At the end of January 1945, the American counter-offensive restored the original course of the front."
