In Calabria, in the mountainous territory of Sant'Agata di Esaro, there is a limestone monolith known as "Tavola dei Briganti". This monolith, about 2 meters high and shaped like an inverted pyramid, is located at the foot of Montea at 1173 meters above sea level. It is considered one of the most interesting monoliths in southern Italy and in 2000 it was the subject of preventive consolidation work.
