The Alassane Ouattara Bridge is a cable-stayed road bridge, connecting the Abidjan communes of Cocody and Plateau since 2023. It is the fifth bridge in the downtown area. The bridge design quotes the cathedral built by Italian architect Aldo Spirito in 1980, under the directive of Félix Houphouët-Boigny, founding President of the Côte d'Ivoire.
The cathedral's cable-supported tower design matches the construction of the new Cocody bridge, named after current president Alassane Ouattara, who was the last prime minister under that founding president. It was built by China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) for $125 million.
